Each day I offer you a different free online chess problem with various difficulties. One day you will have to solve an easy checkmate in 2 and the day after a very difficult free online chess problem in 2 or a checkmate in 6.

before my seeing comments: My solution [submitted in a style the honorable problemist was imitating on 2018-11-09 08:29:17]: to guard pawn and white spot to mate with queen [or north knight] after some black move, white's bdseven starts

On 1. Bf3?, Rf1? Rhxg4!, Nf2! The key, guarding f5, g4 from d7, creates the double threat 2. Qe5#, Qe7#. The double threat mates 2. Ne6#, Nf7# from the try 1. Rf1? reappear as mates on 1.. Rxd7 (Rf4), Re4 while the double threat mates from the solution appear in this try as mates on 1.. hxg4, Rhxg4. The composer was Ladislav Salai Sr. The problem was awarded a Special HM.

Ladislav Salai Sr. (* 19.8.1934 in Lučenec, † 25.3.2006) Slovak composer. "He was an orthodox and fairy composer. He invented the fairy condition SAT which is described in details by Juraj Lörinc on his website and he was the editor of the magazine "Umenie 64"." His son Ladislav Salai Jr. (* 18.1.1961 in Zvolen) is Grandmaster in both composition and solving and a "renowned composer of cyclic problems."
