II. 7...Nb4

(with the idea f5). After this move white wins a pawn and stands better (this is a new appraisal) in some variants. For example: 8.a3!?AN f5 9.Bf5 Bf5 10.ab (with the idea 11.Qe2 or 11.c3). White stands slightly better.

III. 7...Ne7 8.c3!

(with the idea 8...f5 9.Bc2!). White has the possibilities of underminings (by pawns) of black’s pawn centre, that lead to seizure of centre by white’s pieces. Moreover, there are black’s weaknesses of the squares e6, f7, g6, b7, that engender white’s dangerous tactical threats. White stands better (this is a new appraisal).

IV. 7...Bd7AN

[After 7...Qf6AN 8.Qe2 white stands better (this is a new appraisal). After 7...Nd4AN 8.Ne5!? Qe7 9.0-0 white stands better (this is a new appraisal). After 7...Qd6AN 8.Qe2 f6! 9.Qb5 white stands slightly better (this is a new appraisal).] 8.d4!? [White stands slightly better (this is a new appraisal).] 8...ed! [8...f6 9.de fe 10.0-0 Bd6 11.Ng5 g6 12.Bd5 (White stands slightly better.); 8...Qe7 9.0-0 (White stands better.)] 9.Nd4 Nd4 [9...Qe7 10.0-0 White stands better.] 10.Qd4 c6 11.Bf4 Be6 12.Qe5 (White stands better.)

It should be noted, that paragraph 1 has an enormous importance for theory of 1.e4 e5 chess openings!!

The auxiliary information

The initial position of Italian variation (c55/c46,c47) arises by the following 3 methods (each method doesn’t depend on rearrangements of first, second and third white's and black’s moves).

Method 1 (“c55-method”): 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Bc4 Nc6 (c55 two knights defence) 4.Nc3 (c55/c46,c47).

Method 2 (“c46,c47-method”): 1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Nf3 Nf6 (c46,c47 four knights game) 4.Bc4 (c55/c46,c47).

Method 3 (“c28-method”): 1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 (c28 Vienna game) 4.Nf3 (c55/c46,c47).

Thus, each method “consists of” several different sequences of entrance moves. Here are the most well-known sequences:

(method 1:)
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Nc3 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;

(method 2:)
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Bc4 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;
1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nf6 3.Nc3 Nc6 4.Bc4 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Nf3 Nc6 4.Bc4 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Nf3 Nf6 4.Bc4 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;

(method 3:)
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nf6 3.Bc4 Nc6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;
1.e4 e5 2.Nc3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;
1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nf6 3.Nc3 Nc6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4 ;
1.e4 e5 2.Bc4 Nc6 3.Nc3 Nf6 4.Nf3 Nxe4 5.Nxe4 d5 6.Bd3 dxe4 7.Bxe4.
